Deploy Laravel to Vultr

Steps

   Create a Vultr API token

   In your Vultr account, open API, enable it and copy the API key. If you use access control, allow requests from Railyard. Paste it into Railyard and tick Save it to the team, so it's reused for every server after this one.

   Add a Vultr server

   In Railyard, open Servers, then Add a server, then Create on your cloud, and pick Vultr, a region and a size. Railyard preselects vc2-1c-2gb (1 vCPU, 2 GB of memory). It creates the server in your Vultr account and installs Docker, Caddy and its agent in about two minutes.

   Deploy your Laravel repository

   Paste the GitHub link. Railyard reads the repository, detects Laravel and fills in the build, the port, the release command, workers and MySQL or Postgres.

   Go live on HTTPS

   Railyard builds on a separate build server, runs the release command, health-checks the new version and moves traffic only when it answers. Add your domain and the certificate is issued and renewed for you.

What Railyard sets up for Laravel

• php artisan migrate --force runs before every release.
• DB_HOST, DB_DATABASE and the other database variables from .env.example are wired to the provisioned database.
• APP_KEY is generated in Laravel's base64 format.
• php artisan queue:work is offered as a worker, or horizon when laravel/horizon is installed.
• APP_URL is set to the app's address.
