Why deploy on Railyard
Railyard runs it standalone on a server you already pay for — no addons to provision, with zero-downtime deploys and scaling still included.
Deploying Bluesky PDS is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.
Good for
- Hosting your own Bluesky accounts under your own domain instead of bsky.social
- Running a small, self-owned slice of the AT Protocol network
Good to know
- Account data and blobs live on the mounted volume
- PDS_PLC_ROTATION_KEY_K256_PRIVATE_KEY_HEX must be a real secp256k1 private key you generate yourself — Bluesky's own setup script generates one; a random hex string is not a valid key
