Why deploy on Railyard
Railyard runs it standalone on a server you already pay for — no addons to provision, with zero-downtime deploys and scaling still included.
Deploying Cube is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.
Good for
- A consistent metrics layer shared across dashboards, notebooks, and apps
- A headless BI API in front of an existing warehouse
- Caching and accelerating slow analytical queries
Good to know
- Connect it to your own data warehouse after deploy — the CUBEJS_DB_* variables are warehouse-specific and aren't pre-filled
- CUBEJS_DEV_MODE is explicitly set to false since dev mode bypasses auth — don't flip it on for anything reachable beyond your own machine
- Data model (schema) files live on the mounted volume
