Why deploy on Railyard
Railyard runs it standalone on a server you already pay for — no addons to provision, with zero-downtime deploys and scaling still included.
Deploying Hermes Agent is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.
Good for
- A self-improving personal AI agent with memory that persists across sessions
- A messaging-platform assistant (Telegram/Discord/Slack/email) with a built-in cron scheduler for unattended automations
- A shared team agent instead of everyone running their own locally
Good to know
- Add at least one LLM provider key (e.g. OPENROUTER_API_KEY, OPENAI_API_KEY, or ANTHROPIC_API_KEY) after deploy — none is pre-filled
- The dashboard refuses to start without an auth provider configured once it's reachable on a non-loopback address — basic auth is pre-wired here so it boots cleanly; change the generated password before sharing access
- It's a full autonomous agent with memory, scheduling, and messaging-credential access — treat its data volume and dashboard credentials as sensitive
