Why deploy on Railyard
Railyard provisions postgres alongside it automatically — zero-downtime deploys, automatic backups and scaling come from the same platform, on a server you already pay for.
Deploying Ory Hydra is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.
Good for
- An OAuth2/OIDC server for a custom-built login UI
- Issuing and validating tokens for a microservices architecture
- Pairing with Ory Kratos for a full headless identity stack
Good to know
- Postgres is wired up automatically; the release phase runs migrations before boot
- Headless by design — you still need your own login/consent UI; Hydra only issues tokens
- --dangerous-force-http assumes TLS is terminated in front of it, which Railyard's router already does — don't route around that proxy
