Why deploy on Railyard

Railyard runs it standalone on a server you already pay for — no addons to provision, with zero-downtime deploys and scaling still included.

Deploying SillyTavern is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.

Good for

  • A roleplay/chat frontend over a self-hosted or remote LLM backend
  • Character-card based conversations with persistent personas
  • Extending the chat UI with community plugins and extensions

Good to know

  • It's a frontend only — point it at Ollama, an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or another backend from its own Connection settings after deploy
  • No authentication is enabled by default — it's meant for a single trusted user; don't expose it publicly without putting your own access control in front
