Why deploy on Railyard
Railyard runs it standalone on a server you already pay for — no addons to provision, with zero-downtime deploys and scaling still included.
Deploying Trino is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.
Good for
- Querying across Postgres, MySQL, S3/Parquet and other sources with one SQL dialect
- A single BI/analytics entry point over several existing databases
- Ad-hoc federated analytics without ETL-ing everything into one warehouse first
Good to know
- Ships with no catalogs configured beyond the built-in test catalogs — mount your own catalog properties files into /etc/trino/catalog before querying any real data source
- Single container acting as both coordinator and worker — fine for small workloads, not a production multi-node cluster
