Railyard next to Coolify.

Coolify is open-source software you install and run on your own server, including its own database and upgrades. Railyard is hosted for you: you only run the servers your apps and databases live on.

The difference

Nothing to install, nothing to upgrade.

With a self-hosted tool, the tool itself is one more thing on your server to patch, back up and keep running. With Railyard, that part is ours. You still own every server your apps and databases run on, in your own DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr or OVHcloud account, at your provider's price.

Included

What you get without setting up a server for it.

  • Push-to-deploy from GitHub or GitLab, with live build logs
  • Managed Postgres, MySQL and Redis, with scheduled backups and point-in-time restore
  • Health-gated, zero-downtime releases with one-click rollback
  • Free staging and pull request environments
  • Teams, roles, two-factor auth and single sign-on
  • An activity log of every deploy and change

Moving over

The move is the same shape as any other platform.

Point Railyard at a server, add your repo, bring your databases over with a standard dump and restore, then cut DNS over once the new deploy is proven. Your old setup keeps serving until you flip the record.

Questions

Coolify questions

Do I still manage a server?
Yes, your app and database servers are still yours, in your own cloud account. What you don't manage is the control plane itself: no dashboard to install, back up or upgrade.
Is there a Coolify importer?
Not a dedicated one yet. If your app builds from a Dockerfile, buildpacks or a Procfile and talks to Postgres, MySQL or Redis, the move works the same way as from any other platform.
What does it cost?
Free for 1 server plus a database server and 3 apps. Paid plans add more servers, free staging and single sign-on. Your own servers are always billed by your provider, never by Railyard.
