Yopass
Community2 services
Yopass, the open-source one-time-secret sharing tool — encrypt in the browser, share a self-destructing link, nothing stored once it's viewed — with a dedicated Memcached instance.
What you get
- All 2 services provisioned together: yopass, yopass-memcached
- A community template, not yet verified end to end by the Railyard team
- Automatic HTTPS and zero-downtime deploys
How to deploy Yopass
- 1
Connect a server
Attach a DigitalOcean, Hetzner or Vultr server to Railyard, or any Linux box over SSH.
- 2
Click "Deploy Yopass"
Railyard builds the container and provisions all 2 services.
- 3
Set your domain
Point your domain at the app. Railyard issues an HTTPS certificate and keeps it renewed automatically.
Why deploy on Railyard
Railyard provisions all 2 services in this stack together — yopass, yopass-memcached — wired to reach each other over the private network, on a server you already pay for.
Deploying Yopass is one piece of a bigger stack you can keep building — add a database, a worker, a cache, or another app, all on the same servers you already pay for.
Good for
- Sharing a password or API key with a teammate without leaving it sitting in Slack or a support ticket forever
- A self-hosted alternative to onetimesecret.com or privnote, under your own domain
Good to know
- No volume, by design — secrets live only in Memcached's memory and are deleted on first view or expiry; a Memcached restart also wipes any pending, unviewed secrets
- No accounts or login — anyone with the generated link (and the decryption key in the URL fragment) can view the secret once
