Deploy a Docker image

Deploy a Docker image

Run any image from Docker Hub, GHCR, Quay or a private registry.

Use image://<registry>/<name>:<tag> as the source, or Docker image on the canvas. Leave the port empty and Railyard reads the port the image EXPOSEs from the registry.

Private registries: set the registry username and password under Settings → Source.

Deploys pull the image (retrying transient registry errors), run the release command if you set one, then swap traffic once the new container answers.

Redeploy when the image changes

Under Settings → Source, turn on Deploy when the tag changes. Every five minutes Railyard reads the tag’s digest from the registry (Docker Hub, GHCR, Quay, or a private registry with the app’s login) and deploys when it points to a new image. The card shows when it last checked and the current digest.

To deploy right after a push instead of waiting for the next check, add the per-app webhook URL from the same card to Docker Hub, Quay or your registry (on GitHub, a repository or organization webhook for “Packages”). Any POST to it makes Railyard check the registry.
