Rails

Deploy a Rails app with its database, workers, uploads and Rails 8 extra databases.

  • Release: bin/rails db:prepare runs before each version goes live (your Procfile release: wins).
  • Production defaults: RAILS_ENV, RACK_ENV, RAILS_SERVE_STATIC_FILES and RAILS_LOG_TO_STDOUT are set if you haven’t; assets build with SECRET_KEY_BASE_DUMMY=1, so a real secret isn’t needed at build time. SECRET_KEY_BASE is generated once.
  • Databases: pg → Postgres, mysql2/trilogy → MySQL, redis/sidekiq → Redis. Rails 8 extra databases (cache, queue, cable) found in config/database.yml each get their own <NAME>_DATABASE_URL.
  • Workers: Sidekiq, Solid Queue (bin/jobs when present), GoodJob, Resque and Delayed Job are offered from your Gemfile.lock.
  • Uploads: Active Storage on disk gets a persistent storage/ volume automatically; or attach a bucket and the S3 variables are injected.
  • Old native gems (nio4r, puma 5…) compile under GCC 14 without changes.
